12 hours introduction to Massage
This course will introduce the students to massage in
general. It explains the reasons why one would want to
give or receive a massage as well as teaches the
beneficial effects of getting a massage. Through
discussion of the different types of massage techniques
being used today, the students will begin to learn the
essentials needed to becoming a true professional in the
field. In addition, the course will emphasize the
importance of staying in present time during the massage
treatment so that intuition is the guide toward staying
focused and in tune with the client’s needs. It will
also cover professional procedures regarding a full Body
Massage, such as draping and professional courtesy.
Finally, it will review the professional organizations
and continuing education classes that may be helpful on
the road to growth and expansion as a therapist.
30 hours Basic Strokes and Swedish Massage
This course will give the student an opportunity to
explore the different tools of the trade. This knowledge
will be useful in understanding how to use the hands to
achieve specific effects on particular muscles.
Discussion will also include consultation, proper intake
forms, making appointments and good record keeping.
Through this course, the students will become familiar
with Swedish massage and how to incorporate the four
basic strokes into a Swedish massage while remaining
focused and in tune with the client.
30 hours Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage.
This course will teach the student the technique of
applying pressure through the use of body weight and
mechanics, rather than strength. Field trips and guest
speakers will play a big role in this part of the class.
Concluding this course will be a very comprehensive,
head to toe massage incorporating all techniques thus
far.

the “Massage Practice Act” mandated by the state of
Florida. This course familiarizes the student with the
laws governing the practice of massage in the state of
Florida as well as massage establishment operation.

their medicinal values, and the procedures of extraction
of essential oils from the plant. Most herbs are safe,

contraindications. This class will also include guest

forms in which this therapy can be administered along
with proper assessment of time and duration.
35 hours of Chinese Modalities
Instructed by a doctor of Chinese acupuncture, this
course will teach students about meridians, a continual
flow of energy throughout the body. When these
meridians, or lines of energy become occluded, a
pressure point is addressed. By applying pressure to
that point, pain is released, therefore allowing the
energy to flow. Students will also learn to administer a
Shiatsu or finger pressure massage. Since each meridian
correlates to a particular time of day, students will
learn to recognize what time of day each organ does the
most work and therefore manifest ailments at that time.
This class will be geared toward the National
Certification Test.
5 hours of Reflexology
This class is a continuation of the meridians of the
body that end up in the feet and hands. This class will,
by way of palpation and thumb movements, teach the
students to release blocked energy flows known as
congestion or deposits.
37 hours of Anatomy/Physiology I
General Education: At the onset of each class, the
instructor will familiarize students with the body part
to be addressed that day. This will help the students to
become acclimated with the body as a whole, while
staying focused on the particular part being discussed.
Students will be given a hands-on approach to unseen
muscles and bones through the use of classroom sketches,
diagrams, posters and teaching aids.
113 hours of Anatomy/Physiology II
General Education: This will be an in-depth look at form
and function of the body. Many teaching aids will be
used in order to bring reality to the forefront for the
student. All ten systems of the body will be examined,
as well as the importance of their work in conjunction
with the body as a whole. This course offers a serious
look at words through the nomenclature of word origins
and derivation. Once the meaning of the words are
understood, it usually gives a clue as to the location
in the body and it’s use or function. Our main emphasis
is use on preparing the student for licencing, exams and
practical applications.

training while practicing will be discussed. Students

techniques on fellow classmates. Students will become
